The gravel island and gravel bench, whose implementation was completed in the spring of 2024, provide functioning habitats even after more than a year.
The elevated ridge of the island, which according to the project documentation has become overgrown with vegetation, and the built pond serve as a living newly created wetland habitat. The gravel island is colonized by waterfowl. The gravel bench is nicely preserved and, as a newly created gravel habitat, serves mainly for foraging. And now in winter, both measures provide space for waterfowl to overwinter.
